   North-West Namibia 4x4 - 21 Days
Click to enlarge   This is done in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle and offers you the same as our normal tours. Only here you have the opportunity to do the driving on your own and learn how to handle your 4x4 vehicle under supervision of an experienced 4x4 driver. We do drive off the track to remote areas.
This tour is highly recommended for the 4x4 adventurer.

Day 1: Windhoek 
After arriving at Hosea Kutako International Airport, 40km outside Windhoek, we will welcome you and take you to your lodge for your first night. In Windhoek we can do some shopping, have a relaxing lunch while we finalise the last formalities of the tour. In the afternoon we do have a sunset tour through the city. .
We enjoy dinner at a restaurant serving tasty Namibian cuisine.

Day 2: Windhoek - Ameib
After an early breakfast we depart to Ameib, close to Usakos, where we will do a late afternoon walk to the “Phillips cave”. Tonight we have a typical African barbeque (Braai) to round off the day.

Day 3: Ameib - Swakopmund
After breakfast and breaking up our camp we depart via visiting the Spitzkoppe (the Matterhorn of Namibia) to Swakopmund. We book in for the night and go for dinner at one of the most known restaurants in town.

Day 4: Swakopmund
Today we spend time walking and discovering the town. You have time for shopping, some scenic flights, sail on a catamaran at Walvisbaai, or to just relax at the beach. We meet back at our Lodge/B & B to have dinner together at a restaurant in town.

Day 5: Swakopmund - Meason Crater
We depart directly after breakfast to the Cape Fur Seal Colony by Cape Cross, from there we drive directly into the desert where we will do wilderness camping. A mobile shower as well as toilet will be available. Here you will feel the remoteness of the Namib desert.

Day 6: Meason Crater - Xaragu
From here we depart very early on a route that will take us around Brandberg, the highest mountain in Namibia. We will have lunch close to the "White Lady". Late afternoon we visit the Twyfelfontein area and set up our camp at Xaragu, deep in Damaraland.

Day 7: Xaragu - Ongongo Waterfall
From Xaragu we drive towards Palmwag for lunch, on the way we might encounter the mystique Desert Elephant. It goes further to the waterfall at Ongongo, where we can enjoy a refreshing swim before we put up tonights camp.

Day 8: Ongongo Waterfall – Purros
Today we find ourselves in hard, semi-desert environment, in search of the Desert Elephant, as well as other desert dwellers such as Giraffe, Oryx, Ostrich and other animals. This is the land of the Himba, a nomadic tribe, that still keeps to their traditions. We drive into the Hoanib to Ampspoort, from there we travel towards the Hoarusib and Purros, where we put up our camp for the next two nights.

Day 9: Purros
We spend the day visiting an Himba-Kraal and looking for the Desert Elephant. In the afternoon we drive in the Hoarusib in search of the desert dwelling animals of the region. The day also offers a chance for some training to know the 4x4 you are driving.

Day 10: Purros - Orupembe/Rooi Drom - Otjinungwa
We get up early and do a lazy drive towards Otjinungwa via 'Rooi Drom". This will take us through the Marienfluss. On the way we see beautiful landscapes and have lunch under a tree in the Marienfluss. Our overnight place is on the banks of the Kunene river. We can swim or just cool down in a few rock pools not far from our campsite.

Day 11: Otjinungwa - Epupa Falls
After an early breakfast we depart for Epupa. The road offers a few scenic passes and your, or the drivers skills will be tested. This route is well worth the while and most unforgettable.
We set up our camp for the next two nights on the banks of the Kunene, close to the Epupa Fall.

Day 12: Epupa Falls
Today we can visit another traditional Himba kraal, close by. This is as well a beautiful day for a walk along the riverbanks of the Kunene or do a short 4x4 drive. The day will be rounded off with a sundowner above the Falls.

Day 13: Epupa Falls - Swartbooisdrift
After breakfast we depart for Swartbooisdrift, where we camp on the banks of the Kunene, a bit higher from Epupa. The route is a stony 4x4 road and takes most of the day. Lunch will be on the way close to the mighty waters of the Kunene river.

Day 14: Swartbooisdrift - Oshakati
We encounter Africa as most people see it. We visit one of the biggest Baobab trees in Africa at Ombalantu, today called Uutapi. More than 60% of Namibia lives in this region. Tonight we will have a relaxing dinner around the pool while we discuss the rest of our tour. The night is spend at the Oshakati Country Lodge or similar establishment.

Day 15: Oshakati - Namutoni (Etosha National Park)
After breakfast we leave for the Etosha National Park. We drive through towards Namutoni, where we set up our camp. After a light lunch, we do a game drive until sunset.

Day 16: Namutoni - Halali (Etosha National Park)
After breaking up camp we depart for Halali, a campsite in the middle of the park. We set up our camp and explore the waterholes in the vicinity for animals. Tonight we can enjoy watching the animals at the waterhole.

Day 17: Halali - Okaukuejo (Etosha National Park)
Getting up before sunrise, we have a cup of coffee and biscuits to leave with sunrise in order to see the night crawlers heading back to the dense for the day.
Arriving back at the camp we have breakfast, break up our camp and depart for Okaukuejo.
On route we do again some game viewing. After setting up our camp for tonight you can relax at the swimming pool. Tonight you can enjoy seeing animals at the floodlight waterhole in Okaukuejo.

Day 18: Okaukuejo - Capricorn
After lunch we depart for the Farm Capricorn, 40km north of Otjiwarongo.
On Capricorn you'll be met by the Family Kemp (your hosts in Namibia), a beautiful sunset and warm Namibian Hospitality awaits you.

Day 19: Capricorn - Otjiwarongo - Capricorn
After a healthy Brunch we depart to visit a crocodile farm in Otjiwarongo.
In town we can do some shopping and enjoy a light lunch at a cosy restaurant.
In the afternoon we visit one of our neighbour farms where we can view big cats. A hearty Namibian dinner will be served at Capricorn while we enjoy another beautiful sunset.

Day 20: Windhoek
Today we leave for Windhoek.
The rest of the day can be spend for shopping at the traditional craft markets in Okahandja as well as in Windhoek or visiting the Christus Church, Alte Feste, Tintenpalast etc.
For dinner we sit down in a comfortable setting and review the time being spend on the tour.
