Kaokoveld is home of the Himba. It is said to be one of the last remaining traditional living people in Africa.
We also encounter the Desert dwelling Elephant as well as other game like Giraffe, Oryx Antelope, Springbok and Ostrich. The mesmerising scenery is breath taking and well worth the while.
This tour offers a variety of geology, extreme 4x4 driving as well as coming face to face with tradition.

Day 6: Hobatere - Epupa Falls
We depart early morning via Opuwo, where we can do the last shopping for the next days, to the Epupa Falls. On the way we start seeing the people of the region, the Himba, and the rugged environment tells a tale of this hard country. Our camp will be set up on the banks of the mighty Kunene river. The Falls provide a beauty unlike most places here in the north-west of Namibia. We enjoy our dinner while listening to the thundering of the Falls in the background.
Day 7: Epupa Falls - Orupembe
After breakfast we leave the Falls behind and head towards Orupembe. On the way we will visit a Himba kraal. Today we do a bit of 4x4 driving through a very interesting and hard country side. We put up a "bush camp" for the night, with no facilities except a bush shower and bush toilet.

After arriving at Xaragu and setting up our camp for tonight we can go for a well earned swim in the pool.
